Some of the top first-year 12U teams in the country were at the PGF Super Select 11U Championship double-elimination tournament Friday-Sunday in Columbia, TN. Here are some of Saturday’s highlights:

In 11U bracket games:
LTG Lions 2029-Buck, which finished in 7th place at the PGF 10U Premier Nationals last summer, beat Virginia Unity 2K11, 12-1, Atlanta Premier Elite 2011-Bass, 3-1, Corona Angels 2911-Tyson, 8-4, and Arkansas Thunder 2011, 6-5, in bracket play games on Saturday at the PGF Super Select 11U Championship on Saturday at Ridley Sports Complex in Columbia, TN.
2029 2B Reese Litherland deliverd a walk-off hit as the LTG Lions closed out the day with a victory over the Arkansas Thunder. The double-elimination tournament concludes on Sunday.
2029 CF Brea Hart and 2029 SS Kinslee Buck led the team in both hits with 5 hits, including a double each, and 5 RBIs each. Hart also had a triple. 2029 C/SS Tamiayh Ward, 2029 1B/P Paige Cummings and 2029 3B/C Renee Dragseth each had four hits for LTG.
2029 P Maddy Benzler (11 IP, 10 Ks, 1 earned run) and 2029 P Jazzy Contreras (8 IP, 7 Ks, 4 earned runs) led LTG’s pitching staff. …

Beverly Bandits Futures 2011-George, the 2022 PGF 10U Premier Nationals runner-up, went 3-0 in the winner’s bracket, beating So Cal Athletics-Kim/Romero, 6-3, 3n2 Sticks Premier, 2-0, and TN Mojo 2011-Brown, 7-0.
The offensive stars for the Bandits were 2029 P/3B Jaycee McCarter (3 hits, 3 RBIs, 4 runs), 2029 P/3B Maya Melendez (2 hits, 3 RBIs, 2 runs), 2029 SS Brooke white (2 hits, 2 runs), 2029 2B Lily George (2 hits, 2 runs), 2029 C Hadyn Conder (2 hits) and 2029 1B Hannah Louis (1 hit, 4 RBIs).
The Bandits’ pitching stars were Melendez (0.00 ERA, 13 Ks) pitching with a .000 ERA) and McCarter (0.00 ERA, 9 Ks, 1 earned run). …

Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier 2029-Whitaker defeated Wizards Elite 2011, 10-0, Alabama Sparks Elite 2011-Stewarrt, 1-0, and Beverly Bandits Futures 2011-Madison/Perry, 7-0, in the winner’s bracket.
2029 P/SS Rylee Swilley (CG shutout, 5 IP, 5 Ks), 2029 P/OF Emily Stuman (CG shutout, 4 IP, 1 K), 2029 1B/P Maxie Provost (walk-off hit vs. Alabama Sparks Elite) and 2029 SS/P Caroline Chaney (2 hits, CG shutout 4 IP, 7 Ks ) were standouts for the Bolts during bracket play.
