Event Preview: the East Coast Softball Summer Showcase is This Weekend (& So Much to Do Around It!)

The East Coast Softball Summer Showcase takes place this weekend in New Jersey and Delaware… if you can’t make this one, look for the Fall Showcase coming up in October!

Wanna get fired up about summer club ball?

With the Women’s College World Series wrapping up this week and high school ball finishing around the nation, we’re suddenly into the Summer of ’21 and that means travel ball time!

We know tourneys have been going on for a few weeks now, but it’s getting serious starting this weekend as club ball takes the spotlight.

One to watch closely is the East Coast Summer Showcase produced by Rachel Coleman with Rhonda Coleman serving as Tournament Director which runs this weekend (June 11-13, 2021) at complexes in New Jersey and Delaware but within easy driving distance of top cities like New York and Philly.

Also, if you can’t make this East Coast Showcase, there’s the Fall Showcase set for October 23-23, 2021.

We caught up with Rhonda to ask about the Showcase itself as well as the company overall… below are her insights but first check out this 2-minute video that should get you hyped up!

What, in your opinion, makes this event one that area a must-attend?
We are a best-in-class tournament and one of the top showcase events in the Northeast!

East Coast Softball takes pride in having the best conditioned fields possible!

You can’t get a more accessible location being in the heart of the Northeast near four major cities (Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC and Baltimore).  We are within driving distance for many top Northeast universities and are located 30 minutes from the Philadelphia Airport.

We host a high-quality tournament, paying attention to the details ensuring the best experience for the student athletes.  Our experience, deep relationships in the softball community and culture of excellence makes East Coast Softball Tournaments the place to be!

Who are some of the top teams to watch this year?
We have teams coming from over 16 states (Arizona, California, Florida, Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia). The top teams from many organizations will be attending (click HERE to see a full list of teams attending).

What about the format, facilities or other ingredients make it so good?
We work on our fields year-round and hire field crews who groom the fields between each game to ensure a quality experience for the student-athletes.  We are prepared to quickly respond to any weather conditions and we do everything humanly possible to get the girls back on the field when it rains.  We have friendly staff located at every complex who are there to ensure the athletes and coaches have the best experience at our tournaments.

Kassidy Krupit will attend the event.

How about activities to do when not playing… top places to visit, things to do and see, etc?
Being located in the heart of the Northeast, there is plenty to do when not on the fields.  Visit historic Philadelphia, the birthplace of the United States, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the home of the Liberty Bell!  Visit the zoo, play top golf, go ziplining or maybe take the team bowling… there is plenty to do!

Also, take some extra time to visit the Statue of Liberty, Atlantic City, go to the beach, visit New York City or Washington DC.  We provide a comprehensive list of things to do in the area on our website which include links that provide information on these exciting things to do.

Who are some top college, pro and/or Olympians who have come through?
This year Andrea Aldretti (Team USA) and Kassidy Krupit (Team USA) will be attending and will be sharing her experience and providing recruiting advice together with Rachel Coleman, owner of softballrecruiting.com.

How did it go last summer/fall with COVID, was the event played or cancelled?
While we had to cancel our Summer 2020 event, we came back strong in the Fall and hosted multiple events.  We were also able to quickly respond by getting fields ready in less than a day to help a tournament from a neighboring state so the girls would not lose a weekend of playtime.
