Nebraska-Omaha commit 2023 C/UT Sara Watson delivered an RBI single in the top of the seventh and KC Peppers-Wallace held on for a 6-5 victory over So Cal Choppers-Fausett in the first round of the Arizona Last Blast ’22 on Saturday night at Desert Mountain Park in Queen Creek, AZ.
Arkansas-committed 2023 P/3B Kasey Wood allowed five runs and eight hits, while striking out six in seven innings to record the victory for the Peppers, who plays Breakers Labs-Bobby in the second round on Sunday at 8 a.m.
Watson and Pitt State-bound OF Logan Hays had multiple hits for the Peppers,

Cal State Fullerton-bound P/1B Leanna Garcia pitched five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and went 2 for 3 with an RBI, 2023 P/1B Rayna Ponce had an RBI triple and 2022 OF Carlee Hermann had three stolen bases as Breakers Labs-Bobby beat Arizona Storm-Westover in a first-round game.
Athletics Mercado-Smith, the defending Alliance 18U national champion, picked up victories over Lil Saints Gold, 18-0, and Newtown Rock Gold-Garvey, 9-0, to advance to the quarterfinals where they will face Warrior Academy-McDonald on Sunday at 9:50 a.m.
Warrior Academy-McDonald, which won a 16U Alliance national title last year, picked up wins over Jersey Intensity-KOD, 5-4, and So Cal Athletics-Richardson, 3-2, in bracket play. Indiana-bound MIF Taryn Kern belted a two-run homer and Arizona-bound C/OF/1B Olivia DiNardo added an RBI double to lead the Warriors against the So Cal A’s. Chico State-bound P Sam Rocha and Iowa State-bound P Jaiden Ralston combined on the win over the SCAs.
NW Bullets-Campos looked strong with wins over Arizona Storm-Telesco/Stankiewicz, 2-0, Firecrackers-TJ, 2-0, to advance to the quarterfinals. 2024 P/OF Addisen Fisher pitched a one-hit shutout on seven innings, 2022 MIF/OF Alyssa Waltemeyer went 1 for 3 with a double and a run, and LMU-bound C/3B Taylor Fitch went 1 for 2 with an RBI for the Bullets against the Storm. Fisher struck out five in 4.1 innings and went 1 for 2 with an RBI against the Firecrackers.
Arizona Storm-Mathis posted victories over NW Sidewinders, 19-0, and Select fastpitch 16U/18U, 3-2, to advance to the quarterfinals where they face NW Bullets-Campos on Sunday at 9:50 a.m. 2024 3B/OF Lauren Putz hit two home runs to lead the team offensively and UCLA-committed 2023 P/OF Kaitlyn Terry and Charleston Southern-bound P/1B Riley Lauffer pitched a gem against the Sidewinders. Alabama-committed 2023 P/1B Jocelyn Briski threw 4 innings and Terry came in to close it out for the win against Select Fastpitch. Texas-bound SS/OF Viviana Martinez hit a two run home run and Grand Canyon-committed 2023 Savannah Groshong-Kirk hit a two-run, two-out double to dive in the go-ahead runs for the Storm.
Rutgers-bound Ryann Orange struck out five in two innings and Minnesota-committed 2023 P Jessa Snippes struck out 10 in four innings to pace Explosion-Denio/Hagberg to a 4-0 victory over CV Vengeance. Explosion faces Tennessee Mojo-Fisher in a second-round game on Sunday at 8 a.m.
Utah Fastpitch Club-Korth plays Lady Magic-Munoz and Arizona Hotshots-Georges faces Beverly Bandits-Holloway in second-round games on Sunday at 8 a.m.

2024 P Sara Wright pitched three scoreless innings and allowed one hit and 2023 MIF/UT Annabelle Navarrete went 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs as NW Bullets-Muir beat Grapettes 06-McNair, 4-2, in a second-round game.
Arizona Thunderbolts 2023-Walding picked up a 1-o win over Arizona Hotshots 2024-Isaacson, 1-0, in the second round. P Sydnee Wendel, #34 in the 2024 Extra Elite 100, pitched five shutout innings for the Bolts. MIF/1B Trinity Kennemer, #57 in the 2023 Extra Elite 100, bunted Charleston Southern-committed IF Carsten Sandvig to send. She stole third and scored on 2024 IF Mia Viramontes’ sacrifice fly to get the Bolts into the quarterfinals.
“Carsten Sandvig is our spark plug,” Bolts coach Chris Walding said. “She does it all.”
2024 P/MIF Charlize Kai had a strong pitching effort, a double and two singles and 2024 C/OF/3B/UT Naomi Kalanetra had a home run and an RBI double in Lady Magic-Boykin’s 12-4 win over Arizona Hotshots-Rodriguez in the first round. 2023 P Ana Niles had a strong pitching performance , and a pair of solid hits and 2024 P/3B Jaida Fulcher hit a grand slam in Lady Magic-Boykin’s 9-2 win over Lady Duke National-Davis in the second round.
2023 RHP/UT Sage Mardjetko pitched a one-hit shutout, 2024 CF/3B Addie DeLong went 3 for 3 with three stolen bases, three runs and two RBIs and Penn State-committed 2023 SS/CF Michela Barbante blasted a home run to lift Beverly Bandits Premier-Conroy to a 12-0 second-round win over So Cal Athletics-Wellbaum.
2024 SS Madison Lardizabel went 1 for 2 with a bases-loaded triple and 2024 P Miali Guachino struck out 13 in five inning and belted a two-run homer as Athletics Mercado 2023-Hovermale beat Rogue FC-Kaye in the second round.
