After three weeks of intensive coverage, we wrap up our updated look at the Class of 2024 by featuring the talented athletes by position.
Along with our Extra Elite 100 and Extra Elite #’s 101-plus lists, we’ve also ranked the players in the Classes of 2019 through 2027 by the following position groups: Pitchers, Catchers, Infielders and Outfielders.

Today we feature the Position Rankings for the Class of 2024!
Many players can take the field at multiple positions; we placed the players at the positions we feel they are mostly likely to play or were recommended to us by club and/or college coaches.
Note: we have separated the Pitcher position into two categories:
- Pitcher – Primary (the main focus is pitching)
- Pitcher – Duo (the athlete plays another position and/or hits at a high level)
Additionally, we have broken the Infielder position into four categories because of the large number of talented players and also because their skill sets are fairly different:
- IF (General Infield) (can play all multiple infield positions and perhaps others such as pitcher, catcher and/or outfield)
- 1B (primarily plays first base)
- MIF (primarily plays shortstop, second base or both)
- 3B (primarily plays third base)
