Jaydyn “Shorty” Goodwin has been the catalyst for one of the most potent offenses in the nation, helping Tennessee Mojo 04-Fisher win a PGF 10U Premier national championship in 2016 and she was named the MVP of last year’s team that won the PGF 14U Premier national title.
“Shorty,” as she’s known to her teammates, uses her speed and quickness to set the table for the Mojo’s loaded lineup.
“Jaydyn is great friend of mine,” said 2022 3B Taylor Pannell, an Extra Inning Softball All-American and 2019 PGF 14U Premier All-Tournament selection.
“We all call her ‘Shorty.’ She hits lead off for our team and we can always count on her to start the game off. Shorty is very smart when it comes to situational hitting. She can bunt for a hit and hit it in the gaps. She is an awesome second basemen and can cover crazy ground and make outstanding plays. At every tournament she will always try to get cheese fries.”
The cheese fries enthusiast is only 5-foot-3, but she is considered one of the toughest players on the team.
“Jaydyn Goodwin is an amazing all-around player and she is probably the best middle infielder partner I have ever had,” Florida-committed power hitter Mia Williams said. “She has an amazing soul and she is so fun to be around and I love her so much. She is so unique because her looks can be deceiving. She is small but probably one of the strongest girls I have ever met.”
Goodwin, who has committed to Georgia, is one of the most focused players on the Mojo.
“Jaydyn works very hard on and off the field,” LSU-committed Maci Bergeron said. “She’s a very good athlete and she is always a good teammate. She’s always locked in when she’s playing and is a special part of our team. She’s always fun to be around. Her personality makes her very unique.”
