Extra Star Power: UCLA-Committed Jordan Woolery Powers Sorcerer Old Skool With “Superhuman” Skills

Jordan can do it all on the field including playing great defense, serve as a team leader and even make jaw-dropping plays while having fun doing it!

Jordan Woolery’s teammates jokingly refer to her as “superhuman” because she can do all things on the softball field.

“She’s incredibly athletic, she has great size, she’s physical, but her attitude sets her apart,” Oregon-bound 2B/OF Gabby Herrera said of her Sorcerer Old Skool teammate, who is #2 in the most recent 2022 Extra Elite 100.

Herrera recalled a play that best described Woolery’s abilities during a game at the PGF Shootout this fall in Orange County, California. Woolery, a UCLA commit who can play any infield position, was playing shortstop and Herrera was at second base.

“We went to turn a double play, but she had to take a deep route up the middle and flipped it to me,” Herrera said. “I fell down trying to stretch for the ball. Playing up the middle with Jordan is unmatched, and after that play we got up and laughed because Jordan’s relationship with softball is one that requires laughter and fun, so that play was symbolic of her and her persona.”

Jordan helped lead her club team to a Top 20 finish at PGF 18U Nationals this year.

Woolery’s ability to play with joy and ferocity was on full display during her freshman season at Clayton Valley Charter High of Concord, California, where she batted .600 with eight doubles, five homers, a triple, 33 runs scored and 27 RBIs for the Ugly Eagles to earn the Foothill League’s Freshman of the Year honors. She also helped Sorcerer Old Skool finish 17th at the PGF 18U Premier Nationals this past summer.

Despite only being a sophomore, Woolery has already established herself as a proven leader.

“I love playing alongside her because I know she will always have my back on and off the field,” Boise State-bound C/2B Hailey Hayes said. “Other than her amazing talent as a player, she is one of the best leaders I have ever had the chance to be a team captain with. Jordan is unique because of her amazing softball IQ and dedication to this sport. I know she will always ball out for every play and give it her all.”
