Former Indiana catcher Grace Lorsung is transferring to Kentucky.
The Wildcats announced the move on Friday morning. In addition to Lorsung, Jacksonville State transfer Kyndal Tinnell will also join the UK roster.
A native of New Palestine, Indiana, Lorsung spent the last two seasons at Indiana, starting a total of 70 games for the Hoosiers during her tenure.
During her freshman season in 2021, Lorsung was an all-conference First Team selection and was also named to the Big 10’s all-freshman team after a year that saw her bat .274 with three home runs, 20 RBIs, and three doubles to her credit.
In 2022, Lorsung batted .188 with four doubles, one home runs, six runs scored, and seven RBIs, along with eight walks and a career-low two fielding errors.
Prior to her collegiate career, Lorsung earned the 2019 Johnny Bench Catching Award for the state of Indiana. Current Kentucky catcher Kayla Kowalik earned the same award for college catchers in 2021.
