1. (1) Los Alamitos, CA (9-0)
It was a big week for the Griffins, who went 3-0 with wins over nationally-ranked Chino Hills, CA, 17-6, and Gahr, CA, 11-3. Sophomore 3B Giselle Alvarez went 6 for 11 with six runs scored and 12 RBIs for the week.
2. (2) Leander, TX (29-0)
Oklahoma-commit Savannah Geurin tossed a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts to record a shutout in a 2-0 win over East View, TX.
3. (3) Norco, CA (8-1)
The Cougars knocked off previously-undefeated Huntington Beach, CA, 3-1.
4. (4) Marist, IL (5-0)
The Redhawks finally got back on the field and they went 5-0 to open their season.
5. (6) Park Vista, FL (21-0)
Sophomore Chloe Fariello is coming through in a big way for the Cobras. She’s 6-0 with a 1.04 ERA and 37 Ks in 60.1 innings.
6. (7) Villa Park, CA (9-0)
Arizona-commit Sydney Somerndike pitched a two-hit shutout with 11 Ks in a 6-0 win over El Dorado, CA, and she threw a one-hitter with 19 Ks in a 4-0 win over Brea Olinda, CA.
7. (8) Crescenta Valley, CA (2-0)
San Diego State-bound Dee Dee Hernandez, a member of the Mexican National Team, threw a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in 5 innings in a 16-0 win over Burbank to help the Falcons get off to a 2-0 start.
8. (9) Mater Dei Catholic, CA (7-0)
Pace-bound Giselle Garcia is 4-0 with a 1.00 ERA and 51 Ks in 35 IP for the unbeaten Crusaders.
9. (11) Westlake, CA (7-0)
Kennedy Bunker drove in Emily Jones with a single in the top of the ninth and the Warriors held on for a 2-1 Marmonte League victory over crosstown-rival Oaks Christian, CA, on Monday.
10. (12) Barbers Hill, TX (28-2)
The Eagles are riding a 24-game winning streak.
