I Committed: Abby Hammond’s Little League Dream of Being A Kentucky Wildcat Comes True

Abby Hammond, a talented 2025 pitcher and power-hitter for the Southern Force National has accepted an offer to play collegiate softball at The University of Kentucky.

Abby Hammond, a upper-sixties pitcher and powerful right-handed hitter for the Southern Force 18U National, accepted an offer to continue her academic and athletic career just miles from her childhood home at The University of Kentucky.

“Since I was a little girl, my dream has always been to become a Kentucky Wildcat,” shared the Lexington native. “I’ve been attending every Kentucky sporting event for most of my life, and I always wanted to be an athlete there one day.”

The 2022 Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for the state of Kentucky—which she earned as a freshman at Lexington Catholic High School—is known for being a fierce competitor and commander of the ball while on the mound.
