Morgen Talley, a member of the class of 2025, plays travel softball for Sparks Elite Ross/Stewart and high school ball for Calvary Christian High School in Clearwater, Fla. She is also committed to North Carolina State.
During Talley’s two years thus far at Calvary, the team has been district champions (2023), regional champions (2022-2023), and Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 3A State Champions (2022-2023). In eighth grade, when she was at the Canterbury School of Florida in St. Petersburg, Talley’s team won the FHSAA Class 2A State Championship.
Talley’s individual list of accomplishments is extensive, including 2A Player of the Year in 2021, Florida First Team All-State, FACA First Team All-State 2021-2023, FACA First Team Academic All-State 2021-2023, four state championships (volleyball state champions FHSAA 3A 2021), BayMade FastPitch Player of the Year Pinellas County 2023, and BayMade FastPitch Tampa Bay Area Player of the Year 2023.
She is a very gifted athlete, excelling not only as a pitcher but also as a hitter and fielder.
“My strengths in softball are being an all-around player,” Talley said. “I am able to pitch, hit, and play defense. I’ve been blessed to develop my mental game of softball from various coaches which helps me continue to improve in all aspects of the game.”
Her favorite softball memory is winning the 2022 and 2023 state championships in high school. In fact, in the semifinal game in 2023, when her team was down 4-3, she hit a go-ahead three-run homer to help them to victory.
