
Most softball players get their start competitively around the age of five or six with many having a ball in their hand even younger than that. For Olivia Linden, a 2024 pitcher and utility player on the Ohio Hurricanes, this was not the case. Unlike many of her peers, she did not decide to pursue softball until she was 12 years old.
“I started off playing soccer thinking that was my sport,” she said. “My older brother played baseball, and I would always join in and play catch with him. I started to realize that softball was something I wanted to try playing. I knew I made the right decision.”
