Jen Bagley Trotter Wins #700: Five Fast Facts

St. Thomas head coach Jen Bagley Trotter earned her 700th career win in a 4-0 triumph over Western Illinois on Friday.

As the Tommies’ skipper celebrates the milestone victory, here are Five Fast Facts about her career.

1. She is in her second season as St. Thomas head coach.

Bagley Trotter is the only head coach that the St. Thomas program has known at the Division 1 level, as she took over the program’s reins ahead of their transition into Division 1 in 2021. The 2023 season marks her second leading the program, where she has collected 25 wins.

2. She is the winningest coach in MIAA history.

Formerly the head coach at Missouri Western, Bagley Trotter won 676 games with the Griffons, the most victories in the history of the MIAA. She led the Griffons’ program through nearly 1,100 games during her tenure.

3. She is a four-time Coach of the Year.

Bagley Trotter won a quartet of Coach of the Year awards during her time at Missouri Western, a tenure that included two MIAA regular-season championships and a pair of conference tournament titles. The program made eleven NCAA tournament appearances under her guidance and reached the 30-win plateau thirteen times.

4. She played college softball at Minnesota-Moorhead.

A pitcher for the Dragons from 1993-96, Bagley Trotter earned a trio of all-conference honors during her career and set the career strikeout record at MSM, a mark that still stands to this day.

5. She is a Hall of Famer as both a player and a coach.

In 2008, Bagley Trotter was inducted into the Minnesota State-Moorhead Athletics Hall of Fame for her efforts during her playing career; in 2021, she was announced as a member of the Class of 2021 being inducted into the Missouri Western Athletics Hall of Fame for her work in two decades as the Griffons’ head coach.
