Longtime Michigan assistant coach Jennifer Brundage has been promoted to the title of Associate Head Coach.
Second-year head coach Bonnie Tholl announced Brundage’s new title on Monday.
Brundage has spent the last twenty-five seasons as the Wolverines’ pitching coach; last summer, she was promoted to the lead assistant’s role following Tholl’s promotion to head coach.
Under her guidance, the bullpen has long been a strength at Michigan, numbering 20 All-American awards and 11 Big Ten Pitcher of the Year trophies. A handful of the stellar arms to benefit from Brundage’s tutelage include Jennie Ritter, Marissa Young, Nikki Nemitz, Jordan Taylor, Haylie Wagner, Megan Betsa, Meghan Beaubien, and Alex Storako.
Brundage was part of the Michigan staff that led the Wolverines to the 2005 national championship; a former player at UCLA, she was also part of the Bruins’ 1992 national championship, earned a pair of All-American awards during her Bruin career, and was inducted into the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007.
A former longtime Team USA member, Brundage also won a gold medal with the US squad at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
