Jocelyn Alo, the all-time NCAA Division I home run leader and two-time NCAA champion, has signed with Athletes Unlimited and will compete in the upcoming AU Pro Softball AUX event in Wichita, Kan.
Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball AUX (pronounced A-U-X), is an intense competition featuring 18 games across two weeks with the world’s best athletes competing in an innovative format to crown an individual champion. The 2024 event will take place June 10-25 at Wilkins Stadium on the campus of Wichita State. All games will be broadcast live on the ESPN family of networks.
“I am super excited to be playing AUX and to be representing my family, home state of Hawaii and the University of Oklahoma,” said Alo. “To be able to collaborate with AU as an OKC Spark player is such an honor that I will remember for the rest of my playing career. This is a huge win for professional softball and this is so much bigger than myself, but represents the women I am playing alongside as well in both leagues. I am looking forward to my arrival in Wichita and am ready to hit the ground running.”
Alo was named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in each of her final two seasons at Oklahoma after leading the Sooners to back-to-back NCAA championships. She holds the NCAA records for career home runs (122), total bases (761) and slugging percentage (.987), while her 323 career runs batted in rank second on the all-time list.
Alo, who also plays with the Oklahoma City Spark, led the country in home runs three times during her career and set the Oklahoma and Big 12 Conference single-season standards with 34 home runs in each of her final two years. The four-time NFCA All-America selection was named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2022 NCAA Women’s College World Series after hitting .667 with 12 hits, including five home runs, with 13 runs batted in.
In addition to Alo, who will make her Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball debut at the event, the roster of world-class athletes announced to date includes former Wichita State star and three-time All-America pick Sydney McKinney and Wichita native and Olympian Kelsey Stewart-Hunter. In addition, infielder Jessie Warren, who collected AUX Defensive MVP recognition last summer, returns for the 2024 campaign along with infielder Aubrey Leach, who placed second on last season’s final leaderboard.
The 2024 AU Pro Softball AUX roster also boasts numerous Athletes Unlimited veterans, as well as outfielders Haylie McCleney, Bubba Nickles, Megan Wiggins and Morgan Zerkle, infielders Hannah Flippen, Tori Vidales and Sam Fischer, catcher Taylor Edwards and pitchers Odicci Alexander, Alyssa Denham and Aleshia Ocasio.
The remainder of the 42-player roster for the 2024 AU Pro Softball AUX competition will be announced at a later date.
