Texas is hiring Kristen Zaleski as their new assistant coach.
Zaleski spent the 2022 season as the volunteer assistant and first base coach for Oklahoma, part of the coaching staff that led the Sooners to the Women’s College World Series title for the second consecutive year.
Prior to joining the OU staff, Zaleski spent two seasons as the head coach at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She collected a 24-46 overall record while in Corpus Christi, including a 9-18 mark in Southland conference play. Her tenure leading the Islanders included the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
In addition, Zaleski’s coaching resume includes nine seasons and 413 wins as the head coach at Temple College, a JuCo in Texas. She was an assistant coach for the Dallas Charge of the now-defunct National Pro Fastpitch league in 2016 and spent time on the support staff at Texas State.
