Former Arizona State pitcher Lindsay Lopez is transferring to Washington, she announced on social media on Saturday.
“Honored to be a Husky!” Lopez wrote.
A native of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Lopez spent the last three seasons as a Sun Devil, including being part of the pitching staff that led Arizona State to the PAC-12 title in 2022.
In her true sophomore season in 2021 – following the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign that served as her rookie year – Lopez made 19 starts and 33 appearances, notching a 2.88 ERA, 16 wins, and 96 strikeouts en route to All-PAC 12 Freshman honors.
During the 2022 season, Lopez finished second on the team with a 2.12 ERA, 13 wins, and 84 strikeouts in 112.1 innings of work. Opponents hit .242 against her on the year and she posted a strikeout/walk ratio of 6/1.
She has two years of eligibility remaining.
