Longtime professional player Nadia Taylor will join the Michigan State coaching staff as an assistant, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball on Sunday.
Taylor, who currently plays as part of the Athletes Unlimited league, is expected to be the Spartans’ hitting coach. She currently works as a private coach in addition to her professional playing endeavors.
A consistent presence among the professional softball ranks since 2014, Taylor played across five different seasons in the now-defunct National Pro Fastpitch league and has participated in each of the first three seasons of Athletes Unlimited’s points-based league.
A Texas Longhorn from 2009-12, Taylor earned all-region and all-Big 12 honors in each season of her collegiate career. She finished her career in Austin with a .337 batting average and 32 home runs.
Taylor’s hiring rounds out the full-time staff of Michigan State first-year head coach Sharonda McDonald-Kelley, who took over the reins of the Spartans’ program in June.
