Loyola Alum Kiley Jones Returns to Alma Mater, Joins Ramblers Coaching Staff

Loyola Chicago has hired Kiley Jones as an assistant coach.

A 2019 alumnus of the Ramblers’ program, Jones spent four years in Chicago during her playing career.

In a school statement, head coach Alicia Abbott said, “I am ecstatic that we have the opportunity to add Kiley Jones to our staff. Kiley had a tremendous playing career here at Loyola and got to add to her resume playing and coaching professionally in Germany. Not only does she have the experience to create a championship atmosphere on the field but her beliefs and values as a person bring a championship mindset off the field also. She knows how special it is to be a Rambler and wants our student-athletes to thrive on the field, in the classroom, and in life. We have our sights set high as we embark into our first A-10 season and cannot wait to add Kiley’s heart and experience to this program.”

Jones has never coached collegiately. She most recently spent a tenure in Germany, playing professionally as well as coaching. In her role with German team Guggenberger Legionäre, Jones’ primary work was with the development of the pitching staff, while she also assisted with hitting and defense.

Prior to her stint overseas, Jones was the director of fastpitch at Elite Baseball Training in Chicago, where she coached and managed teams and also did individual and group training. She earned a Master’s degree in social work in 2020.

While at Loyola during her playing career, Jones earned 60 wins in the circle, good enough for second place all-time in the program’s record book. She also finished her career second all-time in both innings pitched and strikeouts. She earned all-conference and all-region honors as a junior in 2018.
