One Nebraska town will honor a pair of its softball legends in a unique way this summer.
The town of Papillion, the hometown of both Jordy Bahl and Peaches James, has announced plans to name a street after both Bahl and James. The roads will intersect at the Papillion Landing Softball Complex.
A ceremony is scheduled for July 21st to officially christen Jordyn Bahl Boulevard and Peaches James Way.
Bahl starred at Papillion-La Vista High School, winning three consecutive state championships. She went on to be part of back-to-back national championship teams at Oklahoma before transferring back home to Nebraska earlier this summer.
James, now Peaches James-Keaton, won four consecutive state championship at Papillion-La Vista and went on to a Hall of Fame career at Nebraska. She was the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2004 and had her jersey retired at Nebraska in 2010. She is also a member of the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame.
