North Carolina State is hiring Lindsay Leftwich as their new head coach, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball on Friday.

Leftwich spent the last thirteen seasons as an assistant coach at LSU, working with the program’s catchers, defense, and offense. She was part of the coaching staff that led the Tigers to four Women’s College World Series appearances from 2012-17.

Prior to LSU, Leftwich spent four seasons at Florida International, serving as Beth Torina’s top assistant before following her to LSU. Her resume also includes a graduate assistantship at New Mexico and a stint as a student assistant coach at Northwestern State, her alma mater.

In addition to her coaching resume, Leftwich also served two terms as an Assistant Coach representative on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s Board of Directors.

NC State finished the 2023 season with an 18-35 overall record and a 6-18 showing against ACC opponents. The Wolfpack moved on from previous head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift at the beginning of March.
