It usually starts with a hotel confirmation, a tank of gas, or another lesson bill. You pause, do the mental math, and ask yourself the question most travel ball parents eventually face: Is this really worth it?
Travel ball costs are high—and they will continue to rise. Hotels, meals, gas, training, lessons, and time away from home all add up quickly. And softball isn’t alone. Volleyball, dance, band, and college preparation all come with similar price tags. What often gets overlooked, though, is what families are actually investing in. Travel ball isn’t just paying for games—it’s building a foundation for life.
