Paige Williams’ In the Champions Zone Offering New Course Specifically for Softball Parents

Paige Williams was a college softball player at North Carolina from 2009-13, then went on to work in college softball as the Director of Operations at Arkansas for seven years.

It was while she was at Arkansas that Williams added to her repertoire and began developing her Paige Rene Coaching brand, working with softball players of all levels on their mental performance and training within the mental game.

After several years – and a couple of SEC championships – as a college softball staffer, Williams took her coaching business full-time in 2022, concentrating her efforts fully on a different kind of coaching and enabling her to focus solely on the players she worked with.

One piece of her brand that Williams has caught attention with is In the Champions Zone, her program that focuses specifically on elite mental training for softball players. Now, a year into her business’ full-time launch, In the Champions Zone has launched a new course designed less for players and geared more towards softball parents.

“Elite mental performance starts with the thoughts an athlete believes to be true about herself and about her game. These thoughts turn into an inner voice,” Williams explained. “After working with my athletes for a few years, I realized that while our sessions are specifically designed to support their growth thoughts, their parent(s) are the most consistent voice in their lives so it would be really effective to create a program to support the parents who want the best for their athlete(s).”

As part of the new feature, Williams and In the Champions Zone are also seeking feedback to get as much insight as possible into the parent/athlete relationship at every level, but especially in the pre-college context.

“My goal is to get at least 100 responses from softball athletes before finishing the program in order to use direct quotes to bolster the material we deliver,” Williams added.
