Paytn Monticelli Transferring to Oklahoma

Pitcher Paytn Monticelli is transferring to Oklahoma.

A hard-throwing right-hander, Monticelli spent her freshman season at Wisconsin in 2023. During her rookie year with the Badgers, she posted a 2.71 ERA, earned 7 wins, and held opponents to a .235 batting average with 82 strikeouts in 80 innings of work.

Prior to beginning her collegiate career, Monticelli was a two-time Wisconsin state Gatorade Player of the Year, earning the award in both 2021 and 2022.

In joining the Oklahoma bullpen, Monticelli joins a unit that returns two arms – Nicole May and Kierston Deal – with collegiate experience. In total, the OU pitching staff posted a 0.96 ERA and allowed just 53 earned runs through the entirety of the 2023 season and postseason.
