Former Utah Tech outfielder Tanya Windle is transferring to Arizona State.
“HOME. I want to thank my family, friends, coaches, peers, god, and those who helped me get to this point and with that, I am continuing my academic and athletic career at Arizona State University! There are so many words to say but all I can say is forks up baby!” Windle wrote in a social media post.
The reigning WAC Freshman of the Year, Windle also earned Third-Team All-Region honors earlier this week.
In her first – and, ultimately, only – season at Utah Tech, Windle batted .432 with 76 hits and 53 runs scored on the year. Her statistical line also included ten doubles, seven triples, four home runs, 33 RBIs, and sixteen stolen bases.
Windle’s seven triples on the year tied for 5th place in the category nationally.
