Three-Day Teen Event: July 13-15, 2023
Your mind is the most powerful tool you have as an athlete. Your physical ability are only a fraction of what determines success on the filed or in the gym; your mindset is an equally crucial component in achieving your goals.
My son, Jonny Strickland, is an incredible athlete. Just two years ago he competed in two divisions of a body building content in Boise, Idaho. In the Men’s True Novice division he won 1st place in posing and 1st in physique. In the Men’s Physique division, he won 1st place in physique and 2nd in posing. I will never forget the smile on his face! He beamed for weeks!
Two years later, Jonny would face the most difficult competition to date…. challenging his mind! I’ve always told my kids to have a plan ‘B’ just in case life throws you a curveball. Instead of moving forward with the plans Jonny had made for his life, everything came to a halt.
In August, 2022, my son suffered a massive psychological blow. Not only was it unexpected, but Jonny was left feeling defeated, anxious, and severely depressed.
We will never know exactly what caused the mental shift, but we do know that a series of stressful events led up to the ‘last straw’ breaking (car accident, friend committing suicide, hospitalization for a week, etc.)
After months of watching Jonny attend countless medical appointments and seeing him take several kinds of medications, I felt helpless as a mom. I decided to try a new approach so I drove Joseph Strickland (my youngest son), Jonny, and his sweet fiancé, Ana Lainhart, to Utah where we attended a life-changing event, Limitless, put on by the Krohn Breakthrough Foundation (KBF).
During the event, Kris Krohn and his team taught us how to challenge our limiting beliefs and gave us tools for improving our mindset through positive thoughts, behaviors, and actions. As a prior athlete myself and as a mom, I couldn’t stop thinking about how every teenager should attend Limitless!
Here is a video of Kris himself talking about the event…

Limitless is perfect for injured players, those struggling with anxiety/depression, and for any player who desires to strengthen their mental fortitude. The event is held in beautiful Provo Utah (see discount code below).
I asked my kids what their No. 1 take-away was after attending Limitless:
Jonny: “When on a team, you need to learn to work with others and not rely on yourself. Be a team player!”
Ana: “It was totally life changing. It really did open my eyes on how much your mindset affects how you act, how you live, and how you think.”
Joseph: “I learned that the power of positivity is contagious and effective!”
Jonny is still on the road to recovery but has come a long way. When I asked Jonny what advice he would give to other kids who are experiencing mental health challenges, he said,
“Mental health can be blinding and sometimes it’s hard to know who you are so lean on those who know you. Cling to the person you knew you were before but know you’ll be a better person on the other side. If you’re experiencing mental health challenges, remember all your goals and dreams and stay true to the person you want to be. Find providers you trust and find acceptance with where you’re at. Place yourself in an environment where you can thrive. Meditate, listen to positive talks and music, and surround yourself with people who will support you.”

The Krohn Breakthrough Foundation was founded by Kris and Kalenn Krohn to lift others, to teach the techniques of Breakthrough and mindset to those who wouldn’t normally have access to these principles.
Kris and the Krohn Breakthrough Foundation have created an opportunity to learn the Breakthrough system and put it into practice through a three-day teen and family “Limitless” event and the Extra Inning Softball community has received a personal invite by Kris Krohn to attend the next Limitless event.
This event covers the 9 Steps of Breakthrough, connects teens to each other, and demonstrates that everyone has limiting beliefs. We all question our self-worth, our ability to give and show love, and our potential.
Breakthrough is the process of identifying the beliefs holding you back, unwinding them, and replacing them with empowering new beliefs. The KBF teaches the science of how our beliefs impact everything we do, see, and accomplish.
“When “our beliefs are created and embedded in our subconscious mind,” Kris Krohn explains, “we find evidence to support them, and filter out the evidence that contradicts them. Our world only makes sense if we’re right, and our brain will do anything and everything to make our beliefs right.”
If you believe that you’re not good enough, or that you aren’t fast enough, or a good enough, you’ll never be able to break through the limitation your subconscious continues to filter to you. Others will continue to get “more opportunities” or “better chances”, because your brain is not able to see all the opportunities you have.
Jonny feels a connection with Kris and not only because they both love body building. Kris is a strong mentor and influencer in Jonny’s life. Attending Limitless was one of the best things I’ve ever done for my children and I highly recommend Limitless to our softball community, too.
