The Terrific Ten has you covered on all the best highlights from all the action across college softball on Thursday!

*****

1. South Alabama pitcher Olivia Lackie was masterful in the circle on Thursday night, overcoming fourteen illegal pitched being called to record a win over in-state rival Troy. The pivotal Sun Belt series got off to a bang, with the Jaguars notching a 6-1 win, but the story was Lackie in the circle. Called for the illegal pitches often early in at-bats – and, at one point, in three straight at-bats against the same hitter – Lackie was not unsettled by the calls. She allowed five hits and one run while notching nine strikeouts on the evening.

2. Idaho State clinched at least a share of the Big Sky regular-season title on Thursday night with a 12-8 win over Weber State in Ogden. The Bengals scored four runs each in the third and fourth innings, then added a run in the fifth and two runs in the sixth to coast to the victory. It was a dominant offensive performance that included eighteen hits, while the Bengal offense “hit for the cycle” and saw seven different players record at least one RBI in the game.

3. Central Arkansas opened their series against Lipscomb in dramatic, hard-hitting fashion, notching a 12-1 run-rule win over the Bisons. Mary Kate Brown and Morgan Nelson each hit a grand slam in the game, including Nelson’s that secured the run-rule win in the fifth inning. Jordan Johnson was as solid as usual in the circle for UCA, allowing one run, but the UCA offense got the job done quick, fast, and in a hurry, sending their team home with the five-inning W.

4. The series opener between cross-town conference rivals North Florida and Jacksonville came down to the bottom of the seventh, and in that 7th inning, Kayla Harper came through in the clutch for the Ospreys. Harper hit one all the way to the wall in left-center to score the runner from second base and give UNF the 5-4 walk-off win. The game had been a back-and-forth affair that included Jacksonville rising from a 3-1 deficit before losing on the walk-off.

5. A 4-0 win over Georgia Southern on Thursday marked the 900th win in Marshall program history, another achievement in the Herd’s accolade-filled year. The win also served as the 41st win of the Herd’s season and their 15th win in Sun Belt play. Sydney Nester threw a gem, allowing just three hits in a complete game shutout while notching five strikeouts. She retired the final eight batters that she faced in the game to put the game in the books in Statesboro.
