EXTRA ELITE EIGHTY 16U SPOTLIGHT

The Extra Elite Eighty 16U Club Rankings were recently released and TLI will be taking a look at the teams that made the top 80 for the next few weeks.

Today the spotlight is on …

TEXAS SUDDEN IMPACT-JONES

Extra Elite Eighty 16U Ranking: T-51
Head Coach: Bill Jones
Fall 2020 Record: With the resurrection of the Sudden Impact, this was a brand new group this fall. They went 20-9-2 with three of the losses coming at 18U to Lady Dukes-Lamar, Hotshots Premier-Dumezich. A couple of the losses at 16U came against Arizona Storm Mathis 2023 and Athletics Mercado-Greg/Tidd.
Plan for Nationals: They have an invite to the PGF 16U Premier Nationals this summer.

The Roster:

* Victoria Altamirano (2022, OF/MIF, a gifted player who hit close to .500 with 25 RBIs, one strikeout and a handful of HRs. “She punishes mistakes as well or better than anyone I have ever coached.” Her OF angles are terrific, great foot speed and terrific arm)

* Emilee LaRue (2022, C, a multi-sport athlete who also plays varsity volleyball, basketball and track. She has an above average arm and one of the top receiving catchers in her class. Her dad, Jason, played catcher in the Reds organization)

* Erin Krause (2022, IF, a speedy player that can play in the OF, but lives on the dirt at 3B and can make the 5/6 hole disappear. A versatile hitter that can use her speed or hit away for power)

Allanah (left) and Gabby Leach.

* Kayla Zaid (2022, MIF/OF/UT, trades off at lead-off with Erin Krause, ca use her speed or swing away)

* Loreley Linares (2022, P, a right-hander that spins it very well and very effective when she attacks the strike zone throwing to contact)

* Saylor Davis (2023, P, successfully recovered from knee surgery and began throwing again in August. A lefty that lives around 65-plus mph and goes up and down)

* Kennan Nunamaker (2022, CI/C, a versatile corner that brings depth behind the plate and a clutch, powerful bat)

* Alannah Leach (2023, OF, uses her speed and power at the plate and has a D1 arm and can play all three OF positions comfortably)

* Gabby Leach (2023, OF, batted over .400 with 20 RBIs and 10 walks. Has a D1 arm and can play all three OF positions just like her twin sister Alannah)

* Sydney Hale (2023, MIF, hitting over .400, a smooth MIF with great hands and a high softball IQ)

* Taylor Haywood (2024, CI/P, an athletic player that can play both corners and she has been able to keep teams off balance in the circle)

* Sydney Shiller (2024, OF, a dynamic player hitting over .400 with 15 RBIs. An outfielder that can play infield as well)

* Della Jasinski (2024, P, one of the top pitchers in her class, she keeps the ball down in the zone, moves in and out and working on up and down)
