EXTRA ELITE SPOTLIGHT: SARAH BREAUX
1B/3B/P Sarah Breaux, #46 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100, recently talked to Extra Inning Softball about Tampa Mustangs 16U-Seymour, Doral Academy, what she brings to the team, focusing on being a better hitter, the Atlanta Legacy Showcase, he Alliance Nationals, what she’s looking for in a future college, her Dad, secret talent philosophy and state championships.

Honors: 6A Florida state champion (2021); 6A Florida state runner-up State Champion (2022); All Miami-Dade County 1st Team (2022); 3-year varsity starter at Doral; 14 career home runs; 10U and 12U USSSA All American; and USSSA World Series 8U MVP and Offensive MVP.
Travel Ball Fall Stats: .393 AVG, 1.068 OPS, 5 doubles, 7 HRs, 34 RBIs, 25 runs and .964 fielding percentage.
High School Spring Stats: .407 AVG, 1.221 OPS, 9 doubles, 3 triples, 5 HRs, 31 RBIs, 23 runs, 35 hits and .755 SLG.
Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them?
I was playing with another organization and we had played the Tampa Mustangs-Seymour team a few times and they were always a good, competitive and athletic team that played with a lot of enthusiasm. A teammate of mine, who was with the organization, had guest played with them once and they had asked about me and invited me to their tryout. It felt like a perfect fit after the tryout and I love playing with my girls because we all get along and there is no real drama on this team! We all want to win and care about each other!
What do you bring to the team?
I think I bring a strong bat, a softball intelligence that is extremely high and I can play multiple positions. I pitched as a younger player, but we have awesome pitchers, so I only pitch when the team needs me. I am a corner infielder and play mostly first base. I did play the entire school ball season at Doral at third base and have played a little bit of third base when my team shuffles us around.
What area are you focusing on/trying to improve this summer?
I am trying to focus in on my approach at the plate and become a better hitter. Having a lot of power is a blessing, but everyone wants to see the long ball. I got caught up into that for a time and I was in a funk last school season and part of last year. I have just learned that putting the ball in play with my size and strength that good things will happen.
Can you tell us about your experience at the Atlanta Legacy Showcase?
We were all bummed at the amount of rain and cancellations, but that is the natural sort of thing that happens with summertime softball. Living in South Florida, we are used to the delays and cancellations. We just have traveled so far and to only get a chance of playing a few games is frustrating, but that is out of our control! We play in Atlanta every year and my family and I absolutely love the area. I cannot wait to come back and play again. There are a lot of quality teams in the Showcase and we always want to play top competition, so we look forward to the Atlanta Legacy Showcase and circle it on our calendars!
