EXTRA SPOTLIGHT: SAMANTHA LINCOLN
LHP Samantha Lincoln, #95 in the 2024 Extra Elite 100, recently talked to Extra Inning Softball about Rhode Island Thunder Gold 16U National-Lotti, staying calm and cool in the circle, getting ahead on batters, playing in the Top Gun Invitational, what she’s looking for in a future college, Tom Brady, baking and mega-road trips.

Honors: 10U state champion and invited to participate in 16U Futures All-Star game in Colorado.
Travel Ball Fall Stats: 80.1 IP, 336 BF, 55 hits, 23 BBs, 109 Ks, 1.05 ERA, .971 WHIP and .182 BAA.
Talk about Rhode Island Thunder and your experiences with the program…
My travel team is Rhode Island Thunder Gold and this organization is the top team in the Northeast. Coach Dave Lotti, owner of the organization, is ranked #15 in Extra Elite Softball 100 club coach rankings. I got started with them through guesting for Dave Lotti’s National team. Then joined the 16U National team this past fall.
What do you bring to the team?
I bring heat on the mound with my top speed of 68.8 MPH. I also stay calm win or lose.
What area are you focusing on/trying to improve this summer?
I’m trying to improve on getting ahead in counts.
Can you tell me about the Top Gun Invitational (in Kansas City) and what you hope to accomplish at the event this weekend?
I’m excited because I’ve never played in this tournament before and it is the first weekend for our team this summer, so I am hoping to start my season strong while playing some of the best teams in the country.
