16U CLUB NEWS & NOTES
Extra Inning Softball spent the past week highlighting teams in the top 50 and top 80 for the Extra Elite Eighty 16U Club Rankings and there are many more teams and players from across the country that are very good and are capable of knocking off anybody any give day.
We wanted to take some time to highlight some of these teams an players that you will probably be seeing at a number of these top PGF, Alliance and Triple Crown events all summer:
***Team NC-Hinde is loaded with talent and received a berth to PGF Premier Nationals. They batted .355 and hit 30 HRs as a team. One of the players to keep an eye on is 3B/C Anna Hinde, #2 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100, a power hitter in any age group.

***Wisconsin Lightning plays many of the top teams in the country, has a number of victories and earned a spot at the PGF 16u Premier Nationals. The pitching staff is led by 2024 lefty Gabby Fakes, who throws in the 63-65 mph range with excellent movement, and 2025 righty Karley Meredith, who throws in the 63-65 mph range nad has a variety of pitches.
***West Carolina-committed 2023 2B Lily Bell was the GDAC 6A State Player of the Year and one of the top players for Georgia Impact-Janney/Lewis. She plays for River Ridge High in Georgia.
***OC Batbusters-Interthal’s roster features players from Detroit, Michigan and Pennsylvania, hit 47 home runs as a team in the fall and qualified for PGF 16U Platinum Nationals. one of their top players is Miami University-committed 2023 SS/CF Sami Bewick, a 5-foot-8 athlete who is one of the best platers in Western PA.
***Turnin2-Pezz, which is headed to AFCS 2, features Indiana-committed 2023 MIF Ally VanBrandt.
“This team has been together for a couple years and will be very successful,” Turnin2 coach Ron Pezzoni said. “Dominant pitching, lots of speed and we do very well executing the routine plays. Run the bases very well.”
