In case you missed it earlier today, check out our Weekly Roundup of the best happenings in D1 softball during Week 11 of the regular season. Now it’s time to spotlight the individual Performers of the Week.

Addison Barnard, Wichita State – .667, 6 HR, 15 RBI, 10 R, 1 2B, 1 SB

No hitter in the country is hotter than Barnard at this point. She continued her season-long hot streak in a midweek win over Kansas and a weekend series against Memphis. Barnard clubbed six home runs in four games and recorded 4 or more RBI in three of the four. One of her six home runs was an inside-the-parker, though she recorded “just” one stolen bases this week.

Allie Skaggs, Arizona – .500, 5 HR, 10 RBI, 8 R, 3 BB

A midweek doubleheader against UTEP and a weekend series at Utah saw Skaggs hit a hot streak at the plate, as she recorded hits in four of the five games and had a pair of multi-home run games. In game two against UTEP, Skaggs hit three home runs and accounted for four runs batted in; in the series finale against Utah, she hit two home runs and drove in five runs in the game.

Karly Heath, Louisiana-Lafayette – .500, 5 HR, 9 RBI, 9 R, 1 2B, 6 BB

Heath powered the Cajuns to a win in a midweek tilt against Indiana, accounting for five of her team’s eleven runs in the game. She hit a 3-run home run and an RBI double in the game, which started a hot streak that continued into the weekend. She homered in all three games of a three-game series against Appalachian State, including a multi-home run game to close the series.

Olivia Krehbiel, Missouri State – .556, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 5 R, 2 BB, 1 3B, 2 2B

Krehbiel didn’t hit for the cycle in any one game, but she completed the three hardest parts of that effort in her team’s 3-game weekend series against Loyola Chicago. Krehbiel enjoyed a multi-home run game to open the series, hitting a pair of longballs and totaling five RBIs in the game. She added a triple and a run scored in game two of the series, then helped buoy her team to a series win in the finale, hitting a pair of doubles and scoring a run.

Kim Wert, Missouri – 1.000, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 3 BB

Despite Wert and the Tigers only having played two games thus-far in their three-game series against Kentucky, Wert has already secured herself a spot on this list. She has not yet recorded an out through her first two games in Lexington, going 3-3 in the opener and 1-1 in Sunday’s game two. In the first game of the series, she hit a pair of longballs and accounted for seven RBIs, while her game two performance including a home run and two RBIs, as well as three walks.

Lauren Bernett, James Madison – .778, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 4 R, 3 2B

JMU’s catcher led her team to a weekend sweep of Drexel, recording quality performances in each game of the 3-game series. Bernett recorded at least one hit and one RBI in each game of the series, finishing the weekend with seven RBIs in total. She closed the weekend a perfect 6-6 in the final two games, including a 4-4 performance in the series finale.

Briana Marcelino, UConn – .467, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 6 R, 2 2B, 2 SB, 1 BB

Marcelino led the Huskies at the plate this week, helping guide her squad to a perfect 4-0 showing that included a Big East series sweep over Seton Hall. Marcelino recorded multi-hit outings in three of her team’s four games on the week, including a 2-3 performance in the series finale against Seton Hall that saw her score three runs and account for four RBIs.

Lou Bowers, Eastern Kentucky – .667, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 3 2B, 4 R, 3 BB

In a midweek loss to Kentucky, Bowers was 2-4 against SEC pitching with a 2nd-inning RBI double to her credit. She hit safely in all three games of a weekend series against Bellarmine, including a perfect 3-3 performance at the plate in game two and a 2-3 showing in game three. She saved her best performance for last on the weekend, with a double and a grand slam to her credit to help her team complete the series sweep.
