Tracie Adix-Zins Wins #100: Five Fast Facts

DePaul head coach Tracie Adix-Zins recorded her 100^th career win in an 8-7 triumph over Saint Louis on Friday.

As the Blue Demons’ leader celebrates the milestone victory, here are Five Fast Facts about her career.

1. She’s coaching at her alma mater.

After an assistant coaching career that included stints at Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, and NC State, Adix-Zins returned to her alma mater for the first time as a coach in the summer of 2018.

2. She led DePaul to the Women’s College World Series as a player in 2007.

During her senior year, Adix-Zins posted an undefeated 10-0 mark against Big East opponents and a 22-4 overall record. She also threw eleven shutout innings in the Super Regional round and earned two wins over Oklahoma to advance to the WCWS, one of four World Series appearances in DePaul program history.

3. She is the fifth head coach in DePaul program history.

In her third year at the program’s helm, Adix-Zins became the second-longest-tenured coach in program history, though she still has a few decades to go to catch Hall of Fame coach Eugene Lenti, who even coached her.

4. She led the Blue Demons to a conference title in her first year as head coach.

The 2019 season was the first for Adix-Zins as head coach, and she celebrated by leading the Blue Demons to their third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance via the Big East tournament title. The Blue Demons earned a regional 3-seed and reached 35 wins that year.

5. She was inducted into her high school’s Hall of Fame in 2022.

A 2002 graduate of Edmonds-Woodway High School in Washington, Adix-Zins was inducted into her high school’s Hall of Fame last November as part of the Class of 2022.
