Sunday’s game between LSU and Alabama drew 408,000 viewers on ESPN, checking in as the most-watched TV game during Week 12 according to television ratings released by ShowBuzzDaily.com.
The viewership number made the game the 4th-highest watched softball game of the regular season.
Notably, Alabama has been involved in three of those four most-watched broadcasts, also including their series finale against Auburn (435,000) and a matchup against Florida State in Clearwater in week two of the season (549,000).
The only game in the top four in viewership this season that did not include the Crimson Tide was a March 1st matchup between Texas and Oklahoma that drew 439,000 eyeballs.
Saturday’s edition of LSU/Alabama on the softball diamond drew 238,000 viewers on ESPN2; game two of the series between Tennessee and Arkansas also drew 210,000 viewers on Sunday afternoon. Softball once again crushed college baseball; a baseball game between Florida State and Notre Dame drew 99,000 viewers on ESPN2 following Tennessee vs. Arkansas.
