U.S. Women’s National Team improves to 2-0 at 2024 WBSC World Cup Finals

Former UCLA pitcher Megan Faraimo from San Diego (Vista) started yesterday’s WBSC World Cup game vs. Italy. Faraimo got the win in a mercy rule shortened game, pitching 5 innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 9.

The final score was 0-7 USA.

Extra Inning Softball’s very own Jessie Warren (Florida State) from Tampa Bay hit the first USA home run of the tournament, a solo HR in the 2nd inning and a 3 run double in the bottom of the 5th, she advanced to third on an error and scored on a ground out to end the game on the run difference rule. Warren went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI.

The USA will play China in the final game of group play today at 4PM/UTC.
