It’s been a summer and fall of transition for Camryn Wincher, the 2020 Extra Elite 100 prospect from Houston, Texas who finalized this weekend where she will play her college ball.
Camryn was on a campus trip to Michigan State University with her father, Les, when she committed to Coach Jacquie Joseph and the Spartans’ staff.
Two years ago this week, the infielder committed to the Univ. of Texas, then under long-time coach Connie Clark, but over the summer the only head softball coach the Longhorn program had ever had resigned and Mike White was hired from the University of Oregon.
As often happens with a coaching change, players and recruits end up elsewhere and on August 8, 2018 Camryn was no longer headed to Austin to play college softball (see original Extra Inning Softball article below).
It took two months, but she now knows where she’ll be playing.
