
Courtney Oliver is expected to be named the new pitching coach at Wichita State, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball.
Oliver spent the last two seasons as the associate head coach on staff at Houston. She worked with the team’s defense, as well as with some of the team’s pitchers.
Prior to her tenure at Houston, Oliver spent six seasons as head coach at East Carolina. She earned 125 wins during her tenure leading the Pirates and also guided the squad to their first-ever American Athletic Conference tournament win in 2017.
In addition to her time at other AAC schools, Oliver’s resume includes assistant coaching stints at NC State, Boston University, Monmouth, and Hofstra, her alma mater.
The Wichita State pitching staff posted a 2.55 staff ERA during the 2023 season, with 44 wins, a 1.25 staff WHIP, a .241 opponent’s batting average, and 208 strikeouts in 370.2 innings of work in the circle.
