Lafayette College head coach Caitlyn de la Haba has resigned her position, but will remain in the role through July 31st.
De la Haba spent the last five seasons as the Leopards’ head coach; at the time of her hiring, she was the youngest Division 1 head coach in the nation.
During her tenure, de la Haba posted a 27-151-1 overall record, including a 7-65 showing in Patriot League play. The 2022 season was the Leopards’ best under her shepherding, as the program reached double-digit wins for the first time and matched the win total of their previous three seasons combined.
“I’d like to thank Bruce McCutcheon and Sherryta Freeman for believing in me and entrusting me to lead Lafayette softball for the last five years,” de la Haba said in a school statement. “I am fortunate to have coached so many phenomenal young women, and am proud of them for investing in the process of building a program. My life is forever changed because of Lafayette, and I am so thankful for my time in Easton. As I move toward other career opportunities, I am looking forward to spending more time with family.”
Prior to her tenure leading the Leopards’ program, de la Haba spent two years on staff at George Mason, working with the program’s pitchers. Her resume also includes a stint on staff at Lehigh.
