The clock is officially ticking on the Extra Inning Softball Class of 2028 Regional and National Rankings. In just 48 hours, the nomination window closes for good.

For the Class of 2028, the timing couldn’t matter more. These athletes are now juniors, which is the year college coaches can reach out directly and recruiting picks up speed.

A ranking puts a player’s name in front of the people deciding who to watch, call and offer, at the moment they’re paying the closest attention.

Every ranked athlete receives:

Nominations have come in from coast to coast, and the Nomination Tracker below shows the Class of 2028 athletes whose official nominations are already in. If a player’s name is listed, her nomination has been received. If it isn’t, now is the time to act.

That includes committed athletes. A college commitment doesn’t make a national or regional ranking any less valuable. It’s an honor that follows a player into her college career.

College athletic departments and media often pull from a player’s honors for roster bios and press releases, and an Extra Inning Softball ranking gives them one more credential to highlight.

Once the deadline passes, the Rankings Committee will evaluate only the athletes officially submitted, and late nominations won’t be accepted. Don’t leave a deserving player off the list. Nominate HERE!

Check the Nomination Tracker

The Class of 2028 nominee list isn’t a one-time release. During every nomination period, for every graduating class, the Extra Inning Softball Nomination Tracker shows the athletes whose official nominations have been received. Families and coaches can check it anytime while the window is open.

The Nomination Tracker does two jobs. It helps spread the word as the Class of 2028 deadline approaches, and it gives families and coaches a quick way to confirm a nomination went through without reaching out to EIS staff.

As nominations have grown nationwide, so has the most common question families ask: Did my athlete’s nomination go through? The Nomination Tracker answers it in seconds. Bookmark it now so it’s ready for the Class of 2028 and every class that follows.

One more thing to know: each athlete needs just ONE official nomination. Submitting more won’t raise her ranking or improve her odds of being selected, and it gives her no edge during evaluation.

If her name already appears on the Nomination Tracker, her nomination is in and there’s nothing more to submit.

If her name isn’t there, coaches and families should check her nomination status and make sure she’s submitted before the deadline.

Hitter Rankings & Elite 100 Overall Return

The Class of 2028 rankings will recognize athletes in more ways than ever.

Hitter rankings debuted with the Class of 2030 and return for the Class of 2028. Athletes who make their mark in the batter’s box are recognized for exactly that.

The Extra Elite 100 Overall also returns for the Class of 2028. It ranks the top 100 athletes in the class across every position, measuring pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders and hitters against one another to show who stands at the very top of the class as a whole.

Players get more paths to recognition, and college coaches get a clearer picture of the best talent the Class of 2028 has to offer.

More Ways to Follow the Class of 2028

To keep the process transparent and give athletes the recognition they deserve, the Class of 2028 gets its own leaderboard. It lets families, coaches and organizations follow the athletes under consideration.

Each athlete on the leaderboard has a bio and photo, so readers see a fuller picture of every player and the talent moving through the rankings process.

The leaderboard is part of a bigger push by Extra Inning Softball to showcase athletes as more than names on a list. It tells their stories and gives the softball community a closer look at the players behind the rankings.

There’s even more on the way. See all 10 new nomination improvements HERE!

The SERV Methodology

No single tournament, stat line or opinion should decide where an athlete is ranked. That’s why Extra Inning Softball built its rankings around the SERV Methodology, a structured framework that helps the Rankings Committee recognize the players making the biggest impact in their class.

SERV weighs several parts of an athlete’s development and performance together. Evaluators look at the whole player instead of leaning on one number or data point. The same approach guides how Extra Inning Softball selects athletes for both regional and national recognition.

Don’t Let the Deadline Pass Her By

In 48 hours, the Class of 2028 nomination window closes, and the Rankings Committee will begin evaluating only the athletes who were officially submitted.

A 5-star rating, a bio and photo, a place on the National Rankings Leaderboard and a ranking on her MyEIS360 Athlete Profile are all within reach, but only if she’s nominated in time. Learn more HERE.

Check the Nomination Tracker. If a deserving player is missing, whether she’s still uncommitted or already headed to college, nominate her before the deadline closes at the end of the day on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Her junior year is when college coaches are watching most closely. Make sure she gets the recognition she’s earned.
