There’s a lot of movement happening these days among travel club organizations and one of those benefiting will be the Georgia Impact as the title-winning program has added a talented 16U squad led by Head Coach Mike Maher.
After six successful seasons with the East Cobb Bullets organization — five seasons as head coach and one season as an assistant on the 16U Gold team – Coach Maher decided to take a new direction as the summer season was ending.
It was during this time an opportunity presented itself to join the Georgia Impact organization, the nationally known and respected organization that the coach felt “could provide a different experience and level of exposure for the girls.”
“I’ve always admired and respected the Georgia Impact and the way they run their program,” Maher told Extra Inning Softball this week. “They always field competitive teams across all age groups and have a history of quality coaching, player development and national success year after year.”
Some of the (’05) players from the Bullets 16U Gold team moved up to 18U, but several players instrumental in the team’s success in 2022 have followed the coach in his move inside the Peach State.
“We’ve added some key pieces to our strong core, and we look to be competitive in every game and in every tournament,” Maher added. “This team has a chance to be special—we have some work ahead of us, but there is incredible talent up and down the roster.”
“I am grateful for my time with the EC Bullets and am really excited about this next chapter. I look forward to helping these ladies reach their goals as part of the Georgia Impact.”
