As teams move up in 14U, there are usually some major shake-ups within the top clubs.
The Hotshots TN Premier 07 led by Coach Kristin Newson and ranked #22 in the preseason Extra Elite Eighty 12U Club Rankings (published in April, 2020) has joined the TN Mojo organizationand this first-year 14U squad should quickly become of the top teams in its new age division.
The team has a nice combination of returning and new players with many of them already recognized as Extra Elite 100 talents.
RETURNERS
There’s a strong corps of returners for the Hotshots including OF Sydney Gurley, MIF Landri Nelson, C Bailey Poschke, IF Macy Holland (#85 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100), P/IF Macie Crutchfield (#47 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100) P, and P/1B Kaitlynn Robertson (#34 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100).
The pitching is particularly strong with the dual aces who were in the 2025 Extra Elite 100: Robertson and Crutchfield.
Robertson had two wins for the Region 4 Red team who was eliminated earlier in the day by the tournament champions. Kaitlynn continued her good work proving she is a pitcher to watch this year.
Crutchfield proved in Oklahoma City that she is one of the top pitchers in her 2025 class. Her Region 3 Blue coach, Heather Cole, said that “Macie has extraordinary command over her spins and location making it hard for hitters to put the barrel on the ball. She recorded two shut outs (one was a no-hitter) and had 28 strike outs. She sent several of the best hitters in the nation hanging their heads back to the dugout.”
