SFU Head Coach Jessica O’Donnell said of Allie when she inked her Letter of Intent:

“Allie is one of those student-athletes you can’t help but appreciate. We love her passion for the game, she is very determined to help her team win and she is an amazing teammate,” said O’Donnell.

“On the field, she is going to give us another look in the circle with her movement pitches and is going to work hard for her team whenever called upon. We can’t wait to get her here in front of our Red Flash fans.”

Her travel ball head coach, Tony Austin of the Originals ’23 team, is also a big fan of the student-athlete.

“Allie is an amazing young lady on and off the field,” he begins. “What impresses me about Allie is she has the same work ethic off the field as she does on. She is very involved in her school and she loves to perform in school plays and musicals and always shoots for the lead rolls.”

“Allie always finds a way to make people excel around her,” Coach Austin continues. “She has an amazing sense of humor and is very witty. My favorite thing about being around Allie is that—no matter what mood you are in—when you’re around her you will be laughing and be in a great mood after! We couldn’t be prouder of Allie and watching her fulfill her dreams of playing collegiate softball. St. Francis is getting an amazing person! Everyone needs an Allie in their life… she’s awesome!”

Player: ALLIE BRALY
Club Team Name: Originals ‘23 – Austin
High School: Raytown (Mo.) High
Grad Year: 2023
Position(s): RHP
Signed with: Saint Francis University (Loretto, PA)

What factors led you to commit to your future program?
St. Francis had my major and when I stepped on campus it felt like home and the coaches already felt like family.

When, where, and how did you commit?
November 9, 2022, in Loretto, PA verbally, then signed my NLI

Allie pitching indoors for the Originals.

What are your top individual accomplishments?
In 2019 I was first team all-conference and first team all-district, I also made the principal’s honor roll 2022.

What are your strengths in softball?
My pitching.

What is your favorite softball memory?
My favorite softball memory is being at Nationals and always staying up ‘til midnight on July 29 to celebrate one of my best friend’s birthday. We would always have cake or Crumbl Cookies, then we’d go dominate the field the next day!

Do you have any softball superstitions?
Yes, if I go to QT (QuikTrip, a convenience store in the middle part of the country) before a game, I have to get a donut with chocolate icing and before each pitch I have to wipe my hand on my pants.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen happen on a softball field?
The funniest thing is my teammate Brynn making a triple play while falling and then her having to wait a couple seconds to register what just happened.

If you could meet anyone in the softball world, who would it be?
I can’t just pick one but I would definitely want to talk to Natasha Watley and Jennie Finch again because I love learning from them and getting their different POV’s of the game.

What is one thing you have learned from your coach that will always stay with you?
If you don’t have a purpose, then why are you doing it?

Allie (left) with former teammate and best friend Taylor Borovac.

What is something unique about you?
Something unique about me is probably my face mask that has sparkles on it or my nickname which “Big City.”

Who is your hero and why?
My hero is my mom (Emily Braly) because—no matter what’s going on—she always shows up, she pays for me to travel every summer, her endless support is amazing, and she is the perfect role model in my eyes.

What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy outside of softball?
I have been Vice President or President of my Student Council for the past three years, I’ve been doing theater since I was in sixth grade, and I joined choir this year.

What is your favorite quote or motto?
“When you think about quitting, remember why you started.”
