Player: KAITLYN PALLOZZI
Club Team: Firecrackers 16U – Wallace
High School: Mercy (Farmington Hills, Mich.)
Grad Year: 2025
Position(s): P/1B

What are your team’s top accomplishments?
Our team finished 29-1, we lost in a tough game in the regional finals against Hartland. Both our offense and defense played really well all season and we won both CHSL and Districts for the third time in a row.

What are your top three favorite colleges you would like to play for and why?
I have been working really hard to keep my skills high and my options open.  There are so many great programs and amazing coaches out there!

Although every softball player dreams of playing at a Power 5 school, I just don’t have any preference besides finding the right fit which for me consists of coaches that care about their players and players that support each other and would lay everything on the line for each other.

In the end, I can see myself in a competitive program with coaches and teammates that believe in me and push me to my highest level athletically, academically and personally.

Into the windup… Kaitlyn Pallozzi helped her Mercy high school team go 29-1 this season.

What are your top individual accomplishments?

  • USSSA – National Championship (2021 – 13u)
  • Perfect-Perfect Game in 2nd HS game ever (2022 – Freshman)
  • National HS Player of the Week (2023 – Sophomore)
  • All Catholic, League, Regional and District (2022/ 2023)

Also, this season I went 16-1 with four saves and in 96 innings had a 0.00 ERA with 245 strikeouts and gave up just 12 singles with no doubles, triples or home runs allowed. At the plate I hit .451 with five home runs and 34 RBIs.

What are your strengths in softball?
Over the years, I have had great coaches that push me to be disciplined, accountable to each other and hustle in everything we do.  I try to always set that example for my teammates and others on and off the field, whether it’s practice, pre-game, mid-game or post-game.

What is your favorite softball memory?
My favorite softball memory so far has been playing in the PGF 14U Nationals last year.  It was the first time I met Coach (Mike) Wallace and was really impressed with the discipline and accountability expected from his players.  I was even more impressed with how supportive and encouraging he was.

I also got to play with my best friend and catcher, Sydney Hastings.  We ended up pitching/catching every inning of bracket play and showed that we could hold our own and contribute on a national stage.

Do you have any softball superstitions?
I have to have my hair braided in two dutch braids that go into one ponytail.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen happen on a softball field?
A friend of mine was a catcher and mistakenly whipped her glove off instead of her mask when trying to catch a foul tip.  As soon as she realized what she did she tried to catch the ball with her mask!

If you could meet anyone in the softball world, who would it be?
I would love to have dinner with Patty Gasso.  Her knowledge of the game and the experience she has as a coach is invaluable – I would love to soak up all the advice or knowledge I can!

What is one thing you have learned from your coach that will always stay with you?
Hustle and give maximum effort, expecting and accepting nothing less from yourself.

How would you say that CBJ helped you in your recruiting process?
CBJ is a great platform for compiling and organizing all my relevant information.  It also allows me to easily send information about myself to any program and gives programs an opportunity to easily learn about me.

CBJ has helped me get exposure and emerge on the national stage, leading me to the travel team I am on now and opening up possibilities and opportunities I did not have before.

Additional Questions w/ Kaitlyn

What is something unique about you?
Everyone comments that I am always smiling.  While I do think I’m pretty care-free and generally happy, you’ll know when it’s time for me to buckle down and get serious!

Who is your hero and why?
My hero is my pitching Coach, Alec Lesko.  Coach Lesko is an amazing person, a knowledgeable and experienced instructor and a wonderful family man.  He makes me smile every time I see him and is always happy, positive and supportive.  He definitely makes the world a better place and I hope to live my life the same way.

What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy outside of softball?
I play varsity volleyball and until last year played national level volleyball for five years. I also enjoy playing anything outside with my siblings as well as hiking, nature and the outdoors.

What is your favorite quote or motto?

“Being humble means recognizing that we are not on earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others.”

Gordon B. Hinckley
