Stormy Kotzelnick Joining Louisiana Softball for the 2022 Season
Transfer from Pac-12 member Washington to make collegiate debut with the Ragin’ Cajuns

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball head coach Gerry Glasco announced on Thursday (July 15) the addition of Stormy Kotzelnick (Carmel, Ind.) to the program’s roster for the 2021-22 academic year.

Stormy Kotzelnick was ranked as a Top 15 player in the Class of 2020.

An infielder, Kotzelnick joins the Ragin’ Cajuns after spending the 2021 season with Pac-12 member Washington. She did not compete, taking a redshirt, and has four seasons of eligibility remaining.

She is joining fellow UW transfer Ari Quiñones in making the journey to Louisiana.

“Stormy is an athlete I have watched grow up on the softball field,” Glasco remarked. “She is without a doubt one of the most powerful hitters that I have seen come through the travel ball ranks.

“She possesses a strong arm, quick feet on defense and is an extremely efficient baserunner with great instincts in almost every area of the game,” Glasco added. “Stormy has extremely high expectations for her next four years and the maturity to know how hard she will need to work to meet those goals.”

Kotzelnick is currently participating in the Florida Gulf Coast League this summer.

In 2020, she was named the FGCL’s Rookie of the Year after batting .459 and totaling 11 doubles, two triples, six home runs, eight steals and 22 RBIs.

Kotzelnick hit over .400 every season of high school competing for Carmel (Ind.) High School. She produced 52 extra-base hits over the first three years.

Ranked in the Top 15 of the 2020 Extra Elite 100 ratings issued by Extra Innings Softball, Kotzelnick played club ball with Beverly Bandits and was a part of USA Junior National Team tryouts.

Louisiana Softball Adds Ari Quiñones for the 2022 Season
West Coast product transferring with experience in Pac-12 at Washington

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball head coach Gerry Glasco announced on Wednesday (July 14) the addition of Ari Quiñones (Vista, Calif.) to the program’s roster for the 2021-22 academic year.

An infielder who can play multiple positions, Quiñones joins the Ragin’ Cajuns after competing for Pac-12 member Washington from 2019-21. She has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

“Ari (Quiñones) gives us a super-competitive athlete who is used to winning championships, and understands how to compete on a daily basis with the best athletes in our sport,” Glasco stated. “Not only do we expect her to bring a great defensive presence to our infield, we expect her to bring great poise and leadership in every aspect of the game.”

In her final two seasons in Washington, Quinoñes batted .385 or higher posting a base hit in more than one-third of her total at bats.

A strong start to the 2020 shortened season (COVID-19) was highlighted by a 6-for-10 showing with her first career homer at the prestigious Mary Nutter Classic. She closed the event with back-to-back multiple-hit games against No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 25 Northwestern.

The past two summers Quinoñes has competed in the Florida Gulf Coast League.

Quinoñes prepped at San Diego-area Mission Hills High School where she was named the team’s Player of the Year and Avocado East League MVP in her junior season. She hit .632 that season, with 25 extra-base hits in 25 games.

She was named to the All-Section Team for the San Diego area as well as a junior by both the San Diego Union Tribune and East County Sports.

Jourdyn Campbell Joins Louisiana Softball Starting With 2022 Season
All-around player fits the Ragin’ Cajuns style of play

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball head coach Gerry Glasco announced on Tuesday (July 13) the addition of Jourdyn Campbell (Kingwood, Texas) to the program’s roster for the 2021-22 academic year.

Campbell becomes a Ragin’ Cajun after competing at Texas A&M from 2020-21. She has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

“Jourdyn (Campbell) is an extremely athletic player with size, speed and power who will fit in well with our offensive style,” Glasco said. “Defensively, she can play any position in the infield or excel in the outfield.

“She is also a tremendous student who excels in the classroom,” Glasco added. “We believe she will bring excitement and discipline to our team for the next three years.”

An infielder, who played shortstop all four years of her prep career, Campbell started all 26 games for Texas A&M as a freshman in the shortened 2020 season, hitting .329 and leading the Aggies in doubles (13) while posting 15 RBI. She ranked second in the nation in doubles and eighth in doubles per game.

The Kingwood, Texas product started 15 games and had 45 plate appearances for the Aggies this past spring. She continued her extra base hit prowess with 60 percent of her total hits falling in the category.

Campbell posted a career .382 average and 19 home runs over her final three prep seasons at Kingwood (Texas) High School, receiving first team All-District honors, the team Offensive MVP award and All-American accolades from Extra Innings Softball and Premier Girls Fastpitch.

She played three years of summer softball for Impact Gold under KC Jackson, helping produce two Top 10 finishes.

Pitcher Meghan Schorman Set to Join Louisiana Softball for 2022 Season
Adds veteran presence and success to the Ragin’ Cajuns pitching staff

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball head coach Gerry Glasco announced on Monday (July 12) the addition of Meghan Schorman (Hazelwood, Mo.) to the program’s roster for the 2021-22 academic year.

A right-handed pitcher, Schorman joins the Ragin’ Cajuns after spending the previous three seasons at SEC-member Kentucky. She has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

“Meghan (Schorman) brings us a great arm with not only experience at the highest levels of college softball, but also success,” Glasco said. “She was tremendous in the 2020 season for Kentucky, and we firmly believe she strengthens the depth of our pitching staff.”

Schorman pitched two complete seasons for Kentucky, the last coming during the COVID-shortened 2020 season. She appeared in 21 games in 2019 finishing with a 5-2 record and 3.48 ERA and was off to a great start at 7-1 with a 1.30 ERA and 45 strikeouts over 43 innings in 2020 prior to the pandemic-related shutdown.

A Top 25 win over Oregon and NCAA Regionals experience highlighted her collegiate debut campaign. As a sophomore in 2020, Schorman surpassed her rookie season wins total with seven, posted wins over 2021 NCAA Tournament participants Liberty and Minnesota, and led the Wildcats staff in ERA (1.30) over 10 appearances (eight starts).

A three-year letterman at Marquette Catholic in the St. Louis area, Schorman earned first and second team all-conference honors and set the school record with 36 wins in the circle in 2018. She was named Riverbend AdVantage Softball Player of the Year and was the recipient of Telegraph News Player of the Year honors.
