Best Pre-Game Routine for Success
Success on the field begins long before the first pitch. Creating a pre-game routine is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to ensure you feel confident, calm, and ready to perform. Whether it’s listening to a playlist, eating a favorite meal, or taking time to reflect, these consistent habits can translate to consistent success.
When I was a player, I had a routine that helped me focus and get in the zone. My day always started with two kolaches and a red Gatorade. On the way to the field, I would listen to Hall of Fame by The Script, Thunder by Imagine Dragons, and Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons. Before heading into the locker room, I spent quiet time with the Lord, centering myself mentally and spiritually. These simple yet meaningful steps made game days feel like any other day, helping me stay relaxed and confident.
