Some of the top 14U club teams in the country were at the AZ Power 48 ’23 Feb. 18-20 in Mesa, AZ. Here are some of Monday’s highlights:

Arizona Storm National-Kobasew came out of the loser’s bracket to defeat Beverly Bandits 09-Kam, 5-2, in the 14U championship game of the AZ Power 48 ’23 on Monday at Bell Bank Park in Mesa, AZ.
2027 RHP Lilly Hamel got the complete game win for Storm-Kobasew, giving up seven hits, two runs and striking out one in 7.0 innings.
2028 CF Tayla Falquez went 1 for 3 with two RBIs, 2028 C Jaiden Stell went 1 for 3 with a run, Hamel went 2 for 3 with a double, 2029 RHP/1B Lyndon McRoberts went 1 for 2 with two runs and 2029 UT Taylor Phillip went 1 for 3 with a run and two RBIs to lead Storm-Kobasew in the finals.
“The girls played great,” Storm coach Chuck Kobasew said. “These girls played in the PGF Platinum finals last year. This was the toughest tournament other than that one.”
Storm-Kobasew beat Desert Thunder-Mazura, 7-2, lost to Firecrackers Leles-Ortiz, 5-4, beat Arizona Storm 09-Becerra, 11-1, BSC Bengals-Austin/Ring, 10-2, Athletics Mercado 2010-Iwai, 5-0, Mojo AZ 08-Ramsey, 9-1, Lil Rebels-Vern/Koenig, 3-2, Firecrackers 2027-Franco/TJ, 6-4, and Bandits-Kam, 5-2.
Bandits-Kam defeated Rogue FC-Gephart, 9-1, Wildcats Premier 2027-Laukat, 8-2, Firecrackers Leles-Ortiz, 2-0, Lil Rebels-Vern/Koenig, 3-1, Firecrackers 2027-Franco/TJ, 8-0, and lost to Storm-Kobasew, 5-2.
