Event News: Day 1 at PGF Show Me The Money (June 9, 2022)

Many of the top teams in the country converged at PGF Show Me The Money Thursday-Sunday in Newberry, FL. Here are some of the highlights from pool play on Day 1 (All rankings Extra Elite Eighty Club Rankings):

In 18U pool play games:

Hotshots Premier Alabama defeated D1Vision National, 10-6, and Jacksonville Storm-Channell, 19-2, in two pool play games. UAB-committed 2023 CF/UT Hope Tucker went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and UAB-committed 2023 MIF Emmorie Burke went 2 for 3 with an RBI in the first game and Tucker went 2 for 2 with three RBIs and 2023 OF Mackenzie Bowling went 2 for 3 with three RBIs in the second game.

… Windermere Wildfire-Pollock beat Future-Ralph/Byrd, 4-0, and Premier Fastpitch-Paulson, 6-1, in pool play. Stetson-committed 2023 SS/3B/C Nadia English and 2022 2B Haley Yeary both went 2 for 3 in the first game and 2023 1B/OF Thalia Romero and 2022 3B/UT Mandy Schwartz had two RBIs apiece in the second game. …

In 16U pool play games:

#8 Virginia Unity-Johnson/Ross picked up victories over South Florida Intensity-KOD/Chunky, 8-0, and Mojo Lunsford, 13-10. 2025 OF Rylie Johnson and 2024 P Jayden Heavener had multiple hits apiece for Unity and 2024 IF Frankie Vrazel had four stolen bases for Unity against the Intensity. Vrazel and 2025 C/IF Brinli Bain each had multiple hits against Mojo Lunsford.

… #13 Georgia Impact 06-Sampson beat Lady Gators-Jackson, 10-0, and D1Vision Elite, 9-1, in pool play. 2024 OF Audrey Vandergrieff, 2024 MIF Mackenzie Pickens, 2024 C/OF Madison Pickens, 2024 1B/2B/OF Rivers Sampson and 2025 MIF Emry Masterson all had multiple-hit games vs. Lady Gators-Jackson. 2025 C/1B Kendall Wells had multiple hits and two RBIs, Madison Pickens had another multi-hit game and three RBIs and 2024 1B Lili Smith had three RBIs vs. D1Vision.

… #11 Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier 2024-Green, knocked off Florida Storm Premier 06, 9-5, and Lady Dukes Premier, 6-0, in pool play. 2024 OF Jasmine Green went 5 for 6 with five stolen bases and 2024 OF Madison Humber went 4 for 6 to lead the Bolts’ offense for the day. .

.. #37 Tampa Mustangs-Seymour defeated NC Challengers Premier-Renzi, 8-0, and Georgia Impact 2024-Hollifield, 14-0, in pool play. 2025 1B/3B/P Sarah Breaux went 4 for 5, 2025 C/UT Jaida Thomas went 4 for 5 with a double and a triple and 2024 MIF Karlys Pierce had two triples and four RBIs to lead the Mustangs’ offense. …

#1 Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier 2025-Kemp took care of #45 Georgia Impact Premier 07-Sullivan, 7-0, and SFL Diamond Dusters-de Leon, 6-4. 2026 C/UT Ava Hodo, 2025 MIF Madeline Flammia and 2026 C/UT Hannah Jo Sullivan all hit homers and P/UT Bryanna Kemp, 2025 P Madilyn Byrd and 2025 P/1B KG Favors combined to record 19 strikeouts for the Bolts. .

.. #53 Birminghman Thunderbolts 2026-Thompson picked up wins over NC Challengers-Johnson/Renzi, 8-0, and Carolina Impact-Brancaccio, 21-0. 2026 C/3B Mcartney Harrington went 5 for 7 with a triple and a homer, 2027 MIF/OF Haylen Ayers went 5 for 7 and 2026 UT Katie Norgard went 4 for 5 with a triple and two home runs for the Bolts on the day.

… 2025 P/1B Jaylin Thomas allowed four hits and struck out eight in seven innings and 2025 OF Maeve Haun went 2 for 2 to lead #56 Team NC-Baylog/Tracy to a 5-1 win over Florida Gold-Torres in the first game. 2025 C/3B Lexi Kirby went 1 for 2 with three RBIs and 2026 P/IF Olivia “Libby” Miller got the win in the circle as Team NC-Baylog/Tracy picked up a 4-3 win over #25 Tennessee Mojo 2025-Gregory in the second game.
