Tell us about your travel organization and how you became involved with them?
I started playing with Impact Gold’s National team so I could compete at the highest level in travel ball. I knew that coming to this team and organization would push me to be my best.
Who is the team to beat in your age group?
Whoever is on the other side of the field.
Who is your sports hero and why?
Giselle Juarez because she pitches with sports glasses and even when (she) was injured, she didn’t let it stop her from achieving her goals.
What’s your most memorable softball story?
In 10U, we were playing Wicked Sticks 09 in Oklahoma and they asked the umpires to measure from home plate to the pitchers mound because they thought I was pitching too close.

***Atlanta Premier 09-Lott LHP/slapper Caroline Gatewood, #57 in the 2027 Extra Elite 100, was invited to the USA Softball High-Performance Program National Selection Event Nov. 3-6 in Mesquite, TX.
“When my parents and I heard about it we decided to attend the tryout first of all, to get evaluated, see how the pro’s score me and get feedback on my performance,” Gatewood said. “My dream is to play college ball! I live in Georgia and play A level travel ball. I know where I stand against players in the Southeast and there are some of the best players in the country here.
“I would love to get to see how I do against some of the best players from other places that I don’t know. I’m a small pitcher and I’ve always been determined to show that size doesn’t matter and that I can be as good as the big girls. I just love softball and want any chance I can get to compete at the highest level. I feel like events like these can help me to truly see where I stand in my dream to play college ball.”
