Many of the top 12U and 10U teams went to Oklahoma City, OK, this week for the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series 2. Here are some of Sunday’s highlights (All Rankings Extra Elite Eighty Club Rankings):
In 12U:
Impact Gold 2K9 National swept the national championship series against Iowa Premier Black, 2-1, and 8-6, to captures the 12U Alliance national championship on Sunday at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex.
2027 OF Morgan Marks went 1 for 3 with an RBI and 2027 P Macie Bryant allowed seven hits, one run and struck out 10 to secure the victory for Impact Gold 2K9 National in Game 1.
2027 OF/UT Marquise Gassen went 2 for 4 with three RBIs to lead Impact Gold 2K9 National’s offense in Game 2. Marks got the start in the second game and allowed four earned runs with two strikeouts in 4.0 innings, 2027 reliever Torie Turner allowed two earned runs in 1.0 inning and Bryant had three strikeouts in 2.0 scoreless inning to lock down the victory in Game 2.
Bryant went 7-0 with 80 strikeouts, 11 walks and allowed six earned runs, Turner went 3-1 in 23 KOs in 26.0 IP and batted .361 with 13 RBIs, 2027 UT Kayla Baras hit .485 with 16 hits and 13 runs, Marks hit .448 with 13 hits and 10 runs, 2027 3B Morgan Wilson hit .364 with two HRs and 13 RBIs and 2027 C Isabelle Lawrence caught 54 innings and hit .389 for the tournament for Impact Gold 2K9 National.
2027 P Tayrn Stoner went 6-3 with 46 Ks and she hit .526 with two doubles, a triples and eight RBIs, 2027 C/UT JLee Van Driel batted .486 with two doubles, two triples, four SBs and eight RBIs and 2027 CF Aliayah Shade hit .333 with two triples, four SBs and seven RBIs for the tournament for Iowa Premier Black.
In 10U:
2029 P Campbell Taylor went 1 for 2 with two RBIs to lead OC Batbusters-Edmonds/Taylor to a 3-0 win over St. Louis Chaos in the finals of the double elimination tournament to capture the Alliance 10U national championship on Sunday at USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex.
2029 P/2B Julia Horton pitched 4.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts and Campbell pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief with seven strikeouts for the Batbusters.
2029 SS Angel Barrera and Horton each had a hit and 2030 P/1B Graziella Kelly had a hi and an RBI for the Batbusters in the final.
Batbusters 2030 C Jazzy Kaesbauer was named the AFCS’s Outstanding Player after batting .375 with nine hits, four runs and three RBIs. She also caught 45 IP, was 0 for 4 stolen base attempt against, three pick offs and zero passed balls.
Taylor (.318 AVG, 6 runs, 7 RBIs, 20.2 IP, 0.00 ERA, .774 WHIP, 39 Ks), Horton (.350 AVG, 1 RBI, 3 runs, 20.0 IP, 0.00 ERA, .500 WHIP, 37 Ks) and Barrera (.476 AVG, 10 hits, 8 runs, 4 RBIs) made the AFCS All-Tournament Team for the Batbusters.
