We’re looking at active coaches who qualify in four categories: softball success/accomplishments, developing players on and off the field, passion for what they do and an impact in the game.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll spotlight strong candidates who fit these criteria and today we head to the Lone Star State to learn more about one of these standouts, Eric Hays who runs the second-year 14U Impact Gold National team.
Wrote one parent of a player he’s coached:
“We feel that there isn’t a coach in the state of Texas in our age group who has impacted his players and grown his team from the ground up like Eric Hays.”
“Over the past seven years, he has taken a group of girls and developed them into top athletes. He has also provided many girls with opportunities they would not otherwise have gotten, playing for him. He is a wonderful person, coach, and family man, who has dedicated a significant portion of his time and resources to the families and players that play for him.”

- Coach Hays has also provided the resources needed to help his players, including additional coaching, hi-tech equipment, etc. to help his athletes to get to the next level.
