Hailey Herman is only a 2023 and could play 14U, but she has been elevated to Top Gun Academy’s top 16U team.
Top Gun Academy’s Bob Turner said Herman has been getting major interest from Pac-12, SEC and other Power 5 schools.
“Hailey is the heart and soul of the pitching staff for Coach (Mark) Berryman,” Turner said. “She has been part of Top Gun for four years and her growth has been fun to watch. She has been verified in game between 63-64 mph with outstanding spin rates. She commands three pitches at a high level and is fearless in the circle. Hailey works closely with Top Gun pitching coach Randi Davis. Offensively, Hailey is a middle of the order athlete with exit velo in excess of 70 mph. Even when not in the circle, her offensive abilities keep her in the lineup.”
The animal-friendly Herman is a positive force for Top Gun Academy.
“Hailey is the best teammate someone could ask for,” 2022 OF/1B Bella DeZeeuw said. “She’s super positive and always picks up her teammates. As a pitcher, she is so diverse and always ready to do her best for the team. She works her butt off in practice and pushes everyone to be there best at all times.”
Herman, an avid fisher and hunter, brings a great attitude to the team and she is a threat on offense and defense.
“Hailey is a great team player and helps her teammates become better,” 2022 2B/SS/OF Presley Ziegenbein said. “She always has a positive attitude on and off the field and is always motivated to get better. She is quick on the base path and she is a smart player on both sides of the ball. She has great control over the ball and over the field when she’s pitching. She is also a great presence at the plate. Hailey is an all-around great athlete, and person.”
